该剧主要讲述市委、市政府为解决自然条件极其艰苦、长期不能脱贫的“吉祥村”整体搬迁，与临县最富裕的“刘家村”合并，以及由此产生的新旧矛盾的激烈碰撞。。几个不同职业、不同经历的女性，却都因钱丧弃人格，丧失人性而堕入深渊。她们是如何堕落的，在她们的世界里钱真的可以抵得过这世上的任何东西。。Following the murder of her family at the hands of her father in the wake of World War I, a young woman is sent to live in a convent. However, her demons follow and manifest themselves in ways which bring the nightmares of her past with her.。
