该剧以改革开放和新农村建设、精准扶贫工作为主线，讲述了下派第一书记汤亮与企业家汤小君回到家乡，怀着无限热爱，与村主任范星火携手让家乡脱贫致富奔小康的故事。故事围绕炸掉污染严重的水泥厂、扶贫、村主任改选、修路、征地拆迁和回迁、联营养殖和种植、发展旅游和占地，建新村规划、工程招标等大事件，发生了各种误会、矛盾、明争暗斗。。心性孤傲的叶梅桂无意间邂逅独自来北京打拼的工程师柯志宏，原本小柯借住在好友蓝和彦家，但与叶擦肩而过的一瞬间，他鬼使神差地搬进了叶梅桂出租的748号。蓝和彦料定柯志宏走火入魔，劝他三思而后行，但柯志宏分明从叶梅桂眼中读出了灵魂深处的东西。白天，柯志宏一头钻进缜密繁缛的工作中，下班后，他享受的是与叶梅桂在一起时只可意会不可言传的温暖，这时常令他想起大学时代学姐跳《夜玫瑰》时那醉人曼妙的舞姿。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
